Track and Field Recaps Gamecock Opener, Samford Invite

Meyberg, Shaw have strong weekends for GSU.

ATLANTA – Georgia State competed this weekend in the Gamecock Opener and the Samford Invite in Columbia, S.C., and Birmingham, Ala., respectively.
 

In Columbia, Alexus Shaw capped off a strong weekend with GSU's second-best indoor triple jump all-time at 12.42m on Saturday. Freshman Imani Flanagan took third in the women's open high jump.
 
On Friday, freshman Jada Alston edged out sophomore Na'ilah Moore by three quarters of an inch to win the triple jump.
 
In Birmingham, Lotte Meyberg was impressive with wins in the 3000m and 5000m. Meyberg's time of 9:44.96 in the 3000m ranks third in GSU history.
 
Angela Alonso placed second in the 800m.
