ATLANTA -- Georgia State's indoor track and field team will compete Friday and Saturday at the Gamecock Opener in Columbia, S.C.
The meet begins at 10 a.m. beginning with field events with track events starting at 11:00Â a.m at the Carolina Indoor Track and Field Complex.Â
The Panthers will compete against student-athletes from more than 20 schools including Sun Belt foes Coastal Carolina and Georgia Southern.
GSU opened the new year last weekend at the UAB Blazer and Vulcan Invites in Birmingham.
Alexus Shaw finished third in the 60H and second in the long jump.Â

The Carolina Indoor Track & Field Complex is located at 1304 Heyward Street in the old USC Field House. The facility features a banked six-lane 200m Mondo track, a separate throws area, two pole vault areas, two jumps runways and two high jump areas along with an eight-lane 60m straight track on the infield.Â
Admission to the Gamecock Opener is $10 for adults and $5 for children 17 and under. Everyone must purchase a ticket to enter, and reentry is permissible throughout the day with an appropriate wristband.
There will be a limited quantity of 500Â spectator tickets available for sale each day beginning at 8am. Reentry to the venue is available at any point on the same day for fans who have previously bought a ticket and have the appropriate wristband. On the second day of the meet, fans will need to purchase a new ticket, and the same quantity limitations will apply.
Seating is first-come, first-served. After seats have been filled, standing room only admission is available until the building reaches capacity. Each fan is allowed to bring one folding chair, as long as it is placed in a safe and approved location that does not impede walkways.
The Athletics Clear Bag Policy will be in effect throughout the weekend.
No outside food or beverage will be allowed, though a concession stand will be on-site for most of the weekend.
