BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Georgia State lost 8-4 Friday to Eastern Illinois at the Samford Classic in Birmingham, Ala.
Remington Hasty went 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBI and a run scored and Kristin Hawkins hit her first home run of the season in the loss.
Georgia State took a 3-2 lead in the top of the fourth, but Eastern Illinois pushed six runs across in the bottom of the fifth to go up 8-3. GSU added a run in the seventh, but would fall 8-4 to drop to 0-7 on the season.
GSU's second game of the day against Samford was cancelled due to rain. Instead, the Panthers will play DePaul at 5:30 p.m. ET Saturday. Next up for Georgia State is another meeting with Eastern Illinois at 10 a.m. ET Saturday.
