Williams Named GSU Student-Athlete of the Week

The Douglasville,Ga., native is averaging 13.7 points per contest and shooting 46.2 percent from beyond the arc

ATLANTA – Junior guard Kane Williams has been named Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the Panthers to a 1-0 week with an 81-78 overtime win over Charlotte on Wednesday.

Williams filled up the box score finishing with 12 points, seven assists, and six rebounds in 38 minutes of action. The junior went 5-of-11 from the floor and 2-of-4 from 3-point range helping the Panthers a third-straight win and eighth-straight win at home dating back to last season.

For the season, Williams is averaging 13.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 46.2 percent from 3-point range.

The Panthers return to the court on Tuesday night hosting Dartmouth at 7 p.m. in the GSU Sports Arena.
