Griffin Earns Sun Belt All-Conference Honors

ATLANTA- Georgia State women's volleyball standout Meisheia Griffin earned Second Team All-Sun Belt honors as voted on by head coaches around the league, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

Griffin, a junior from Columbus, Ga., made a huge impact at the net this year. Her 1.15 blocks per set is the most among players in the Sun Belt. Her nine blocks in a single game are tied for the 4th-most in a single contest in the conference. Griffin proved to be a dual threat. During conference matches she recorded a .309 hitting percentage, best for 8th in the league. She threw down a total of 205 kills in 2019,  the third most by a Panther this season.

GSU concluded the 2019 season with two back-to-back wins over in-state rival Georgia Southern. The team finished with a 10-17 recorded and barely missed a bid to the Sun Belt Conference tournament, which takes place later this week.
