Leah Wilcox has 22 Kills in GSU Loss

Little Rock Outlasted the Panthers in a 3-2 Contest Friday Night

Box Score Little Rock, Ark. – Georgia State lost a heartbreaking five-set match at Little Rock Friday night. Leah Wilcox tallied 22 kills in the loss, her personal best in a GSU uniform.

Offensively, seniors Stroud (10) and Madelyn Ott (11) also contributed double-digit kill performances. In the back Lauren Bandera's 25 digs marked her ninth match with more than twenty digs this season.

The Panthers sprinted to a quick lead in the first. With Georgia State leading 22-12, the Trojans would find three service aces en route to a 14-2 run. Little Rock would outlast the Panthers to take the opening frame 26-24.

After a rough second set, the Panthers and Trojans would play go back and forth, tying the match ten times. The Panthers would eventually rally from a four-point deficit to take the third 28-26.

The two squads would continue to play a close match in the third. After a Little Rock serving error, Ott would notch two kills to clinch the 25-22 victory forcing the tiebreaker set.

The Trojans recorded a kill to take the first point in the deciding frame. The Panthers would continue to battle, but Little Rock would hold on to take the 15-12 win and secure the match.

Georgia State will look to bounce back tomorrow night as they face Arkansas State. First serve is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET. Fans can follow along live stats and streaming.
