Panthers Compete in Indoor Track and Field Opener

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Georgia State's indoor track and field team opened the 2018-19 season Friday at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

Competing at the BSC Indoor Icebreaker, the Panthers saw good performances in the weight throw and relays.

Noelia Caceres placed fourth in the weight throw with a distance a 15.78m, a new personal best.

GSU's 4x400m relay team took second with a time of 3:53.92 and the Panthers finished third in the distance medley relay at 13:41.59.

Despite only having about half the roster competing, Georgia State managed a ninth-place team finish with 22 points. 

Georgia State has a long break before the next competition on Jan. 11 at ETSU.
