ATLANTA – The inaugural CCSA Beach Volleyball Championship is set to begin on Friday April, 22 at the Lakepoint Sporting Community in Emerson, Ga. The site is about 35 miles from GSU's campus, north on I-75 above Kennesaw.

No. 9 AVCA-ranked Georgia State will be the 2-seed after going 22-7 (6-4 CCSA) in the regular season. The CCSA's eight teams will compete in this inagural league championship. Florida State, No. 3 in the AVCA, is the No. 1 seed.

The Panthers will begin group play at 9:30 a.m. Friday against No. 10 FIU. The Panthers have met the FIU Panthers twice this season with GSU winning the first match 4-1, but falling 3-2 in the most recent contest.

Georgia State then takes on FAU at 2:30 p.m. Georgia State also played the Owls twice in the regular season, winning one and losing the other. The Panthers' final group match is Saturday morning at 9 a.m. against Tulane, who topped GSU 3-2 on April 9.

If GSU wins that group, the Panthers would receive a bye into the semifinals on Sunday. A second or third-place finish in group play means playing in the quarterfinals at 2 p.m. Saturday. The team that finishes last in the Saturday group is eliminated.

The championship match is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. It will be shown live on ESPN3.com and on the WatchESPN app.

The CCSA (Coastal Collegiate Sports Association) is the host for the championship. Clck her for Their link.
