Letterwinner's Day will be celebrated at the Georgia State basketball doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 6 in the Sports Arena. The welcome mat is out for all former Panther basketball players to come back and enjoy a day with fellow alums.
The check-in and catered reception on the fourth floor of the Sports Arena will open at 11 a.m., one hour before the women's tip-off with Sun Belt foe, UT Arlington. At halftime of the women's game (approximately 12:45-1 p.m.), Director of Athletics Charlie Cobb will address the letter-winners on everything from the new basketball practice facility next door, to the acquisition of the Turner Field property, to the consolidation with Georgia Perimeter College that will take GSU's enrollment to more than 50,000, to all the news of the athletics department. The reception will continue until approximately 1:45-2:00 before the men's 2:30 tip-off.
Here's what each and every letter-winner will receive:
- Two complimentary game tickets
- Free parking in the G Deck next to the Sports Arena
- A GSU logo t-shirt
- A GSU logo glass
- Entrance into the catered reception
- Introduction on-court during the game
- Handshakes and hugs from former teammates. We're Panthers For Life, not just a couple years.
Please RSVP now to assist with the food order, the gift order and the introduction script. You must RSVP by Feb. 3 to receive the gifts and tickets. Contact Megan Meadows in the Basketball Offices at 404-413-4050 or e-mail at mmeadows@gsu.edu. Additional tickets can be purchased to the women's game at just $3 and to the men's game at just $8. Children under two are free. The last game with Georgia Southern was a capacity crowd and a Georgia State win.
Georgia State PAC members will be involved in the reception as well and receive information from the Development Office.
