With another chance to show improvement and prepare for the Feb. 23-24 Sun Belt Indoor Championships, Georgia State's indoor track and field team heads to East Tennessee State University to compete in a 25-team event.
"It is February and we're just a couple weeks away from the championship meet, so we want to focus on being our best and challenging ourselves to succeed," coach Chris England said of Friday and Saturday's meet.
"This is our first meet to pretty much take the whole team, so we want to see a lot of high placings and good times and distances this weekend," coach added.
This is GSU's second trip to ETSU this winter for indoor competition on its oversized 280-yard indoor track. The 25 teams are local throughout the southeast and mid-Atlantic area.
The competition starts Friday afternoon with some preliminaries and field events. Then, a full Saturday slate goes from around 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Georgia State has already set a pair of school records this winter in throwing events in the field portion of competition.
