LAFAYETTE, La. – Georgia State's volleyball team was swept Friday night in Lafayette, La. by the Ragin' Cajuns. The Panthers fell 25-15, 25-16, 28-26 to fall to 6-19 on the season and 2-13 in conference play.
Senior Deidra Bohannon led the team with eight kills and freshman Shae Chapman and redshirt senior Kitan Ajanaku each finished with seven kills. Freshman Sarah Renner tallied 30 assists while senior Gabby Serafin totaled 12 digs to lead the defense.
The Panthers fought hard in the third set to extend the match, but ultimately lost 28-26. There were 16 ties and four lead changes in the final set as GSU outhit ULL .191-.122. The loss resulted in just the fourth sweep GSU has surrendered during Sun Belt play this season.
The Panthers play their final match of the season Sunday against UL Monroe in Monroe, La. at 1 p.m. EST. It will be the first meeting between the two sides in 2015.
