* Georgia State (4-10, 0-4 SBC) lost in four sets to Troy in Alabama on Friday night.
* Kitan Ajanaku led the team with nine kills. Gabby Serafin's 11 digs on Friday means she needs just 33 to become the 10th Panther to reach 1,000 career digs.

TROY, Ala. – Georgia State's volleyball team dropped a road match Friday night against the Troy Trojans in a four-set contest. The Trojans defeated the Panthers 25-12, 22-25, 25-16, 25-18.
Georgia State falls to 4-10 with the loss and is still looking for its first conference win of the season. Troy improves to 7-11 (1-4 SBC) on the year and passes Georgia State in the Sun Belt standings.
"Troy fought hard tonight,"head coach Sally Polhamus said. "They played to win for every point."
It was a tough match offensively for the Panthers as the team hit negative, but GSU's defense was able to hold Troy to just a .186 hitting percentage. Kitan Ajanaku led the team in kills with nine and Deidra Bohannon had the most digs with 12.
In Georgia State's Set 2 victory, Kristina Stinson fueled the attack with four kills on five attempts. Ajanaku and Anna Rantala each added a pair of kills to help GSU avoid a sweep. Gabby Serafin finished with 11 digs, leaving her 31 short of 1,000 for her career.
Georgia State faces South Alabama Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Mobile. Georgia State is on the road again Wednesday when the Panthers travel south to Statesboro to take on Georgia Southern in the first meeting of the new rivalry series between the two schools.
