Sept. 2, 2010 Football Began its inaugural season with a convincing win as it raced to a 41-7 victory in front of 30,237 fans at the Georgia Dome.
Sept. 2, 2001 Women's Socccer For the third time, Jennifer Espinal saved 16 shots in a single game vs. Air Force, a record which remains unsurpassed.
Sept. 2, 2008 Volleyball Torrie Brown was named the CAA rookie of the week.
Sept. 3, 2011 Volleyball In four sets vs. College of Charleston, Muki Kangwa had 69 total attack attempts.
Sept. 4, 2010 Cross Country It was a good day for both the men's and women's cross country teams. Katharine Showalter won the women's 4k (14:10) while Chirs Harber won the men's 5k (15:19), and both teams finished first at the Struts JSU Opener.
Sept. 5, 2001 Men's Soccer Opened the season with a 2-1 win over No. 6 Clemson.
Sept. 5, 1998 Volleyball Samantha Walker had nine service aces in three sets against Troy, the program's three-set record.
Sept. 6-8, 2005 Men's Golf Mark Haastrup won the TOPY Cup, the first of his three tournament championships, which is tied for the most by anyone in program history.
Sept. 8, 2012 Cross Country Both the men's and women's cross country team claimed first place at the GSU Invitational.
Sept. 9, 2011 Women's Cross Country Earned a first-place finish at the Aubirn Invitational.
Sept. 10, 2000 Football Christo Bilukidi made his NFL debut for the Oakland Raiders against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football. He was only the second GSU alumnus to play in a regular-season game in one of the four major sports leagues.
Sept. 10, 1999 Women's Socccer Jennifer Espinal set the record for saves in a single game by stopping 16 shots from Northern Arizona.
Sept. 12, 2008 Women's Socccer Kay Harbrueger scored three goals in a match vs. UNC Asheville, tied for the most in a single game in program history.
Sept. 13, 2004 Volleyball Anna Paula Ferriera earned her first A-Sun Volleyball Player of the Week award.
Sept. 14, 1996 Volleyball In just three sets, Vania Blake recorded an impressive 26 kills vs. UTC.

Sept. 15, 2007 Men's Cross Country Claimed first place at the 35th annual GSU Invitational, as senior Jay Morrill won the 8k event with a time of 26:31.70.
Sept. 15-16, 2008 Women's Golf Iliska Verwey shot a 210, the lowest individual score in a three-round tournament at the Cincinati Fall Classic. She also tied the lowest individual round score at the same tournament when she shot a 64 in the first round.
Sept. 16, 1984 Men's Soccer Doug Yearwood accounted for 10 points in a 10-0 vivtory over Washington & Lee to tie for the highest GSU player point total in a single game.
Sept. 17, 2005 Men's Soccer Dathan Knott scored three goals in a match vs. Lipscomb that the Panthers won 5-0.
Sept. 17, 2011 Women's Cross Country Continued its success at the GSU Invitational, as Hannah Stefanoff ranked first among individual competitors and the team placed second.
Sept. 18, 1996 Women's Socccer Ashley Brooks had three of Georgia State's goals scored in an 8-0 romp against MTSU
Sept. 18, 2010 Football Played in its first overtime game in program history, losing a close one to Jacksonville State 34-27
Sept. 19, 2009 Women's Cross Country In her senior season, Janel Blancett won the 5k Commodore Classic with a time of 18:13.77.
Sept. 20, 2008 Women's Cross Country Five runners placed in the top 20 at the Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Sept. 21, 1995 Women's Socccer Kara Fitzgerald had a memorable day against Jacksonville, setting program records for assists in a single game (4) and total points (8).
Sept. 21, 2001 Women's Socccer Jennifer Espinal matched her own record by saving 16 shots against Rutgers.

Sept. 27-28, 2004 Men's Golf Earned its lowest score in a round of golf with a 269 at the Mason Rudolph Championship, and the lowest ever tournament score of 831.
Sept. 29, 1984 Men's Soccer Coach Scottie O'Neill earned the 100th victory of his career against Mercer with a 5-3 win.
Sept. 29, 2007 Women's Cross Country Rachel Hannah ran a personal best 17:34.14 at the Louisville Classic.
Sept. 1975 Men's Soccer Enjoyed its largest winning margin in history by downing Southern Tech by a score of 15-0.
Sept. 1983 Men's Soccer Joined the Trans American Athletic Conference (TAAC) and picked up its first men's soccer victory 2-0 over Mercer.
Sept. 1984 Men's Soccer Hunry Musey scored the first goal of his career, which would be the first of a program-best 67 goals scored.
