ATLANTA - The Georgia State volleyball team lost to UT Arlington in straight sets Friday night.
UTA won the match 25-11, 25-16, 25-18.
The Mavericks (10-6, 3-0 Sun Belt) have now won four straight, while Georgia State (5-13, 0-4) has dropped its last six matches and is still searching for its first Sun Belt win.
Senior Emily Averbeck had seven digs in the three-set match, moving her into third place on the GSU career dig chart with 1,378.
Sophomore Sydney Hunsley led all Panthers with seven kills and .389 hitting percentage, having no errors on her 18 attempts.
Freshman Morgan Patterson made an impact for the Panthers in her first official match, coming up with two service aces, one assist, four digs and one block assist.
Georgia State will have another short turnaround, as the Panthers will host Texas State (12-5, 2-0) on Sunday at 1 p.m.
