ATLANTA (March 10, 2011)--Georgia State head football coach Bill Curry announced disciplinary action for members of the Panther program due to violation of team rules.
Sophomore quarterback Drew Little is suspended for spring practice and the first four games of the 2011 season, while sophomore safety Fred Barnes is suspended for spring practice and the first two games of 2011.
Sophomore wide receiver Danny Williams and senior linebacker Evan Bostic are suspended for the first week of spring practice.
Senior linebacker Olufemi Opanubi has been dismissed from the team.
Due to student privacy laws, Curry cannot comment on the nature of the violations, but none involve criminal activity.
"As we build our program, discipline has to be the foundation," said Curry. "These situations are difficult for all involved, but we will do the right thing, for Georgia State football and for these young men."
Curry announced that sophomore Bo Schlechter will return to quarterback, joining sophomore Kelton Hill at the position. Schlechter, also the Panthers' punter, competed for the starting quarterback position last summer but moved to wide receiver early in the season.
The Panthers open spring practice March 21.
