CONWAY, S.C. -- Senior Janel Blancett's victory in the 3,000-meter run and the Georgia State relay team's had five top six finishes as the Panthers concluded day three at the CCU Shamrock Invitational.
Janel Blancett ran a 9:48.17 in the 3,000 to claim first place, her second win of the track season as she won the Niswonger Invitational mile at the beginning of the indoor season. Freshman Katharine Showalter finished seventh with a time of 10:18.17 while senior Caitlin Price finished 13th with a time of 10:34.14.
The relay team's had a strong second day with five top six finishes.
The women's 4x100-meter relay team, composed of Shay Marks, Bianca Tyson, Kendra LaFleur and Angelia Nugent, placed third with a time of 46.19.
The women's 4x400-meter relay team, composed of Gabby Brooks, Tyson, Meghan Takacs and Catie Jensen, finished sixth with a time of 3:51.61.
The women's 4x200-meter relay team, composed of Tyson, LaFleur, Amber White and Angelia Nugent finished fourth with a time of 1:39.64.
The men's 4x800-meter relay team composed of Joe DeVito, Loris Hutterli, Chris Harper and Rahsaan Johnson, finished sixth with a time of 7:52.31, while the women's team finished third with a time of 9:15.50. Blancett, Jensen, Price and Kinchen competed for the women.
Senior Nelson Walker finished sixth in the men's 3,000 with a time of 8:56.30.
Junior Amy French finished ninth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:50.32.
Nugent finished third in the triple jump with a leap of 11.97m.
Sophomore Zanny Anderson bested her personal best in the 1,500-meter run by more than 10 seconds with a time of 5:02.60.
White finished ninth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.00.
Both Tyson and Kelyse Holt advanced to the finals in the 100-meter dash with times of 12.08 and 12.16, respectively.
The Panthers return to action next weekend as they compete at the GT Yellow Jacket Invitational.
