Willis Leads NCAA in Sacrifice Hits

Georgia State outfielder Holly Willis has been declared the 2009 NCAA statistical champion in sacrifice hits. The outfielder from Chesapeake, Va., averaged 0.54 sacrifice hits per game to lead the nation.

Willis finished the season with a school-record 26 sacrifice hits and 41 for her career.

A three-year starter and two-time all-Colonial Athletic Assocation selection, Willis posted a career batting average of .323 with one home run and 50 runs batted in. She stole 37 bases on 48 attempts.
