Brandon Honored as CAA Legend

Former Georgia State basketball standout Terrence Brandon, the Panthers' all-time leading rebounder and second-leading scorer, will be honored as a Colonial Athletic Association Legend at Thursday's annual CAA Championship Banquet.

Each year, the CAA Legends program honors one male and one female basketball letterwinner from each member school and recognizes them at the conference tournament. Brandon will also be introduced at halftime of Georgia State's opening round game against Delaware (Friday, 12 noon).

Brandon amassed 1,479 points and 750 rebounds in four seasons from 1991-96. He also ranks in Georgia State's career Top 10 in field goals, free throws, blocked shots, games played and games started.

He was a two-time all-conference selection, including first-team all-Trans America Athletic Conference honors in 1995, as well as four-time conference player of the week selection in his career.

As a senior, Brandon averaged a double-double with 20.8 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. His scoring average of 20.8 points per game in 1995-96 still stands as the third-best season average in school history, while his 10.4 rebounds rank sixth. He averaged 18.7 points and 9.0 rebounds as a junior.

A native of Murrah, Miss., he led Murrah High School to a state title and top 20 national ranking in 1991.

Brandon played professionally overseas for six years. He now resides in Atlanta and serves as a firefighter with the Atlanta Fire Department.
