Tiffany Creamer, a previous GSU athlete became the assistant coach of the Georgia State beach volleyball team prior to the 2021-22 season. After her 5th year as a GSU Sandy Panther Creamer began pursuing her professional playing career while working as a graduate assistant in 2018-19 and the director of operations in 2019-2020. In her time at Georgia State, Creamer has earned the Thirty under 30 award from the AVCA.

The 2022 season produced the most successful National Championship run in Georgia State sports history and a program high 28 wins. GSU tied for 5th place in the nation at the NCAA Tournament and finished the spring ranked No. 7 overall in the final AVCA National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Coaches Poll. The 2022 roster also combined for 3.74 overall team GPA— the highest amongst all teams at GSU for the spring.

Under Coach Van Fleet and Coach Creamer GSU had a program-best 28-13 overall record in 2022 as the Sandy Panthers claimed the first-ever Conference USA Beach Volleyball Championship in the league's inaugural season. The C-USA title marked the first conference championship for GSU in beach volleyball program history and earned the team an automatic bid to the NCAA National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship in Gulf Shores, Ala. Entering the NCAA Championship as the No. 10 overall seed for the national tournament, GSU defeated No. 7 seed Grand Canyon to advance to the second round of NCAA Tournament play. For the first time in Georgia State sports history, the 2022 team secured a second-round NCAA Tournament win by knocking off No. 2 overall seed TCU to advance to the round of six at the NCAA Championship. The upset victory over second-ranked TCU marked the largest upset in NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship history and tied the school record for highest-ranking win in the history of GSU athletics across all sports. The Sandy Panthers No. 7 ranking for the final AVCA Coaches Poll also marked the highest finish in a Division I Collegiate Poll for any team in GSU athletics history. The historic season highlighted by the NCAA Tournament run charts as one of the most successful for any team in the athletic department's history.

The 2022 season saw three pairs to AVCA Top Flight honors in Yasmin Kuck paired with Kayla Whetstone at the third flight, Angel Ferary paired with sister Bella Ferary at the fourth flight and Chloee Kleespies paired with Becky Tresham at the fifth flight. All three pairs were also named to the Conference USA All-Tournament Team following the Panthers' C-USA title victory. The Ferary sisters finished the spring with a school-record 37-2 overall mark for the season and earned All-Conference USA First Team honors for 2022. The duo's 37 single-season victories are the most by a pair in program history, and both sisters currently hold the school-record for individual wins in a season at 37 each. Leading GSU to 14 consecutive wins, the 2022 Sandy Panthers' 14-match winning streak ranks as the longest in program history.

During the 2021 season, The Georgia State panthers accumulated 23 wins after coming off a shortened 2020 campaign. In 2019, the Sandy Panthers posted 24 total victories. In 2018, GSU tied a program record for regular season wins in a season with 22 dual match victories.
