Jocelyn Wyatt

Jocelyn Wyatt, understands the winning formula and hard work habits that it takes to win after serving two years on Baldwin-Tener's staff at East Carolina before coming to GSU in the spring of 2010.

She learned valuable lessons when she served two years prior to that as a graduate assistant at the University of Georgia (2006-08) under Andy Landers.

The Lady Bulldogs were 50-17 and earned at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament both years. She was heavily involved in the UGA summer basketball camps.

East Carolina won 40 games those two years, with the 23 wins last year being the second most in school history as the team earned a WNIT postseason bid.

As a student-athlete under current GSU assistant coach Adrienne Shuler, Wyatt was a three-year letterwinner at guard at Appalachian State after spending her freshman-year playing season at Kennesaw State, then a Divsion II school in the Peach Belt Conference.

Wyatt played 83 games for the Mountaineers, starting 21 of 28 games as a senior. Wyatt averaged 9.3 points per game as a senior, topped by a 19-point outing vs. Chattanooga.

Also known for her defensive skills, she led the team in blocked shots with 28.

She was on the academic honor roll four times and was vice-president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Board (SAAB).

Wyatt received her bachelor's degree in exercise science with minors in biology and psychology from ASU in May 2006.

As a freshman in metro Atlanta at Kennesaw State, Wyatt started 19 of 27 games and averaged 7.7 points and 5.8 rebounds for the Owls.

A native of Lawrenceville, Ga., Wyatt played at Berkmar High School. She was also a hurdler on the track team for the Patriots in Lilburn.

Wyatt spent four summers as an assistant director with Peach State Basketball, Inc., coordinating instructional camps and high school showcases.

Born Sept. 23, 1982, she is the daughter of Deborah and Kenneth, who is a pastor.

She has two older brothers, Jevon and Quincy Cumbley, and two younger siblings, sister Kenya Wyatt and brother William Wyatt.
