Tyler Wargo joined the Georgia State University staff in January 2026 and serves as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, where he oversees the development of the baseball, softball, and cross country programs.

Prior to Georgia State, Wargo served as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Georgia, where he earned his master’s degree in Kinesiology with a focus in Strength, Conditioning, and Fitness. During his time at the University of Georgia, he worked within football’s strength and conditioning program as an intern before transitioning into his graduate assistant role within the Olympic Sports Department. In that position, Wargo oversaw the strength and conditioning programs for cheer, dance, equestrian, and diving, while also assisting with all other Olympic Sports programs.

Wargo began his career as a Strength and Conditioning Intern with the football program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he also earned his undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sport Science. While completing his undergraduate degree, Wargo also served as an assistant coach for a local high school wrestling program, where he assisted in the development and physical preparation of young student-athletes.

Wargo is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA and a USA Weightlifting Level 1 (USAW-1) coach. He resides with his wife, Anya.
