Scott Gaffney joined the Georgia State Student-Athlete Development staff in October 2019 and currently serves as the Assistant Director – Director of Football Academics.
Prior to joining Georgia State,Gaffney served as the Lead Academic Advisor for the Kennesaw State football program. He oversaw all aspects of academic support, eligibility, APR and progress towards graduation. In KSU football’s four years of competition, Gaffney led the program to their highest team GPA and APR scores this past year.
Gaffney got his start in the Mizzou Made program at the University of Missouri. He began as a student-athlete mentor before transitioning to an Assistant Academic Coordinator. At Missouri, Gaffney worked with the Tigers' football, baseball, swimming & diving, tennis and golf programs.
A native of Vineland, N.J.,Gaffney earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from West Virginia and a master’s in education, counseling, and psychology from the University of Missouri.
