Rickey Layman is in his first year as video coordinator for the Georgia State football program.
Layman joined the GSU staff in 2020 from Georgia Tech, where he spent the 2019 season as assistant video coordinator for football.
He previously served as assistant video director for the Atlanta Legends franchise in the Alliance of American Football, which played its games at Georgia State Stadium in the spring of 2019.
Layman began his career in college athletics as media and video coordinator for the Bethune-Cookman football program in Daytona Beach, Fla., in 2017-18.
He also spent a year in Japan, teaching English.
A native of Louisville, Ky., Layman earned his bachelor's degree in film and photography from Montana State in 2014 and served as student videographer for the football team from 2011-14. He added a master's degree in organizational leadership from Bethune-Cookman in 2019.
