Kyle Snipes is in his first season as an assistant coach on the Panthers’ coaching staff after joining the program for the 2007-08 campaign.

Snipes is in his 13th season in college hoops with previous experience in the CAA and the ACC.

“Kyle is an oustanding addition to our basketball program,” expressed Coach Henry. “His experience working in the CAA and the ACC will be a tremendous asset to our staff as we pursue a CAA championship.”
He assists with post player development and helps in all aspects of Georgia State women’s basketball, including on-court coaching, scouting, player development, and monitoring of student-athlete academic progress.
Snipes spent the 2005-07 seasons as an assistant coach for head coach Ann Hancock at CAA member UNC Wilmington. As an assistant coach for the Seahawks, his duties included scouting, film exchange, team equipment, on the floor coaching and the development of the post players. UNCW finished 23-36 during his tenure, and Snipes contributed to the development of 2005-06 CAA all-rookie team member Sahsha Taylor.
Before arriving at UNC Wilmington, Snipes spent two seasons with the Georgia Tech women’s basketball program. Working under head coach MaChelle Joseph, Snipes served as the director of women’s basketball operations in 2003-04 and served for the previous head coach, Agnus Berenato, as an administrative assistant in 2002-03.
While working with the Yellow Jackets, Snipes assisted with scouting, as well as with practice and gameday preparation. He oversaw the budget and team travel for the Lady Yellow Jackets, while also co-coordinating the game schedule with the head coach.
Before his stint at Georgia Tech, Snipes was the director of men’s basketball operations at his alma mater, Wake Forest, from 1998-2001 under head coach Dave Odom.
During his time at Wake Forest, the team won the NIT Championship in 2000. He coordinated the budget, team travel and film exchange, while assisting with the scouting of opponents .
Snipes was an assistant men’s basketball coach at Erskine College in Due West, S.C. from 1996-1998, where he worked as the recruiting coordinator and chief opponent scout for the Flying Fleet.
Coordinating defensive game plans and working as the compliance liaison with the athletic department, Snipes helped the team reach the CVAC semifinals for the first time in the history of the program.
After graduating from Wake Forest in 1995 with a bachelor of arts degree in speech communications, Snipes stayed on to serve as an athletic operations assistant, supporting the coordination of game-day operations for all intercollegiate sports.
Snipes was also an undergraduate manager for the Demon Deacons men’s basketball team for four years from 1991-1995.
During his senior year, the 1995 Wake Forest squad won the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship.
Snipes has also worked as the Director of Sports Programs for Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta.
Snipes, 34, married the former Melissa Jenkins in August 2006.
