Johnathan Spicer joined the Georgia State athletic departmen t in April 2022 as an Athletic Academic Advisor working in Academic Support/Student-Athlete development. He currently works with football student-athletes.

Prior to arriving at Georgia State, Spicer served as an academic coordinator at Georgia Tech, where he worked with football, women's basketball, women's tennis and softball student-athletes.
Spicer earned his master’s degree in recreation and sport management from Florida International. While at FIU, he worked as a student-assistant in athletic facilities and operations. During his second year of graduate school, he interned at Miami from 2019-20 as an academic services assistant and served as a mentor for various sports team. During the 20-2021 academic year, Spicer worked at USF and served as an assistant academic coordinator, working with football student-athletes.
Spicer graduated from Florida A&M with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and fitness. He was a student-athlete on the men’s basketball team. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. and National Association for Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A).
Spicer is a native of Miami, Fla.
