While she completes her masters degree, EVITA ROGERS will serve as a second year Graduate Manager for the program.

Rogers played four seasons at Georgia State from 1999-2003 and spent two seasons here as an assistant coach, so this marks her eighth year of involvement with the program.

One of the most decorated athletes in Georgia State women’s basketball history, Rogers, a four-year letterwinner and four-year starter from 1999-2003, capped off her brilliant career by finishing as Georgia State’s all-time leader in games played (121) and field goal percentage (53.3 percent). She currently ranks in the top 10 all-time in eight categories.

A member of three NCAA Tournament teams and a Women’s National Invitation Tournament squad in 2000, Rogers helped build State into a Trans America Athletic/Atlantic Sun Conference power. She is one of the three members of a senior class that participated all four years in postseason play.

Rogers concluded her career having helped State post a 56-16 (.778) league mark and an overall record of 89-35 (.718) in four years.  Rogers was a two-time Most Valuable Player selection of the A-Sun Conference Tournament and garnered all-conference honors three times.

Rogers is fourth all-time in scoring with 1,728 points and grabbed 793 rebounds to rank eighth all-time. She had two games with 38 points scored to rank in the top 10 performances.

A Dean’s List student, Rogers was also a 2005 Verizon Academic All-District 3 recipient and was named to the league All-Academic team for three consecutive seasons. On Dec. 6, 2004, Rogers’ jersey number 51 was retired to the rafters.

Rogers graduated cum laude from Georgia State in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and is working towards a master’s in sports management.

She has worked as a personal trainer and as a basketball instructor within the Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta Spirit organizations, and played professional basketball overseas for one season with Escola Secundaria Santo Andre (ESSA) of the Liga Feminia (Women’s League), which is the top women’s division in Portugal.

Born April 8, 1981 to William and Josephine Rogers, Evita is an Atlanta native. She was a key player on the 1999 state championship team at Woodward Academy.
