Enrique Davis joined the Georgia State football staff as the running backs coach in January 2025 and was elevated to co-special teams coordinator prior to the 2026 season.

Widely regarded as one of the nation's premier running back developers and recruiters, Davis has helped develop, mentor or coach 11 NFL players throughout his career, including NFL Draft selections, All-Americans, College Football Hall of Fame inductees and nationally ranked recruits.

Davis quickly made an impact at Georgia State, helping elevate both the program's on-field production and recruiting profile. In 2026, helped assemble the highest-rated recruiting class in Georgia State football history. The class was highlighted by four-star running back Quintavius Wiggins, the No. 29-ranked running back in the nation and the highest-rated signee in Georgia State football history, along with Xavier Butler, the No. 5-ranked athlete in the state of Georgia.

On the field, Davis continued his track record of developing professional-caliber running backs. Under his guidance, Jordan Simmons earned all-conference honors before receiving an NFL opportunity with the Philadelphia Eagles. He also mentored Rashad Amos, who earned an NFL opportunity with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Georgia State was one of a select group of programs nationally to have multiple running backs earn NFL opportunities during the same offseason.

Davis arrived at Georgia State after serving as an analyst at Ole Miss under head coach Lane Kiffin. As an analyst, he played a key role in recruiting and player development while helping guide one of the nation's most explosive rushing attacks.

During his time in Oxford, Davis worked closely with All-American and All-SEC running back Quinshon Judkins, who later became an NFL Draft second-round selection. He also helped develop Ulysses Bentley IV, who earned an NFL opportunity with the Indianapolis Colts, and JJ Pegues, who signed with the Las Vegas Raiders after becoming one of the nation's most effective short-yardage and goal-line weapons.

Davis also played a significant role in Ole Miss recruiting efforts, helping attract elite running back prospects including Kewan Lacy and Shekai Mills-Knight, two of the nation's most highly sought-after recruits at the position.

Prior to Ole Miss, Davis served as running backs coach at Western Kentucky in 2022. There, he coached one of Conference USA's most productive backfields, highlighted by all-conference performer Kye Robichaux, who later signed with the Detroit Lions, and Markese Stepp, the first four-star running back signee in program history who later earned an opportunity with the New York Jets. He also coached Davion Ervin-Poindexter, a Doak Walker Award watch list selection.

Before his stint at Western Kentucky, Davis spent the 2021 season at McMurry University coaching running backs and tight ends. His top three running backs combined for 1,097 rushing yards and seven touchdowns while averaging 4.9 yards per carry. During the summer of 2021, he also worked with the New York Jets as an Offensive Quality Control intern, assisting with tight ends and special teams during training camp.

Prior to his NFL experience, Davis served as running backs coach and director of player development at the University of West Georgia from 2018-20 under legendary Division II head coach David Dean. During his tenure, he coached College Football Hall of Fame inductee Devontae Jackson, an All-American, all-conference performer and the first running back in school history to reach the NFL after signing with the Denver Broncos. He also recruited and developed all-conference running back Rajace Mosley.

Davis began his collegiate coaching career at Morehouse College in 2017 as recruiting coordinator and running backs coach. While there, he coached College Football Hall of Fame inductee Santo Dunn and all-conference performer Frank Bailey.

Before entering the college ranks, Davis spent several years coaching at the high school level in Georgia, including stops at Renaissance Christian Academy and Westlake High School. During that time, he helped mentor future NFL players Caleb Huntley of the Atlanta Falcons and C'Bo Flemister of the Baltimore Ravens, while also coaching future NFL Draft second-round selection Demetrius Knight Jr.

As a player, Davis was one of the nation's most highly regarded prospects. A three-time high school All-American and five-star recruit, he earned Parade All-America honors and was selected to the Offense-Defense All-America Bowl. Following his time at Hargrave Military Academy, he was rated the No. 1 postgraduate prospect in the country by both Scout and Rivals.

Davis played running back at Ole Miss from 2008-11 under head coach Houston Nutt. During his collegiate career, he earned SEC Newcomer of the Year honors and helped lead the Rebels to two Cotton Bowl championships. Following his playing career, Davis received professional opportunities with the Atlanta Falcons, Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos before transitioning into coaching.

A native of Lynn Haven, Fla., Davis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice with a minor in park and recreation management from the University of Mississippi. He remains active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was inducted into the Bay County Boys & Girls Club Hall of Fame.

When he is not coaching or mentoring student-athletes, Davis enjoys spending time with his wife, Keia, and their five children: Omari, Elijah, Enrique Jr., Eniya and Emani.
