Brooks Thomas joined the Georgia State athletics staff as the women's golf head coach on Sept. 17, 2025.

Thomas arrived at Georgia State after two seasons at Kennesaw State, where he helped guide the Owls to their first ASUN Championship in four years. A decorated professional golfer, Thomas competed on several tours between 2017 and 2022, including the All Pro Tour and GPro Tour. He qualified for the 2021 Simmons Bank Open on the Korn Ferry Tour, placed eighth on the 2020 SwingThought Tour money list with a 70.2 scoring average, and earned three victories on the Open Golf Atlanta Tour.

As a student-athlete at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Thomas was a four-year standout, earning All-Southern Conference honors in 2017 with a 73.15 scoring average. He competed in both the 2012 Junior U.S. Amateur and the 2017 U.S. Amateur before graduating in 2017 with a degree in psychology. Following graduation, he launched his coaching career as an assistant for the Mocs men’s golf team.
