Biography
OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD 2014: Had the third, fourth and fifth-fastest times on the team in the 400m hurdles...Won the Troy Invitational in a personal-best 1:02.01, eclipsin her 1:01.05 in finishing third at Furman...At the Sun Belt Championships, scored two points by finishing seventh in 1:02.09...Also ran three times with the 4x400 relay team.
INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD 2014: Participated in the 800m run and on the distance medley relay team during the winter indoor season...Logged a best 2:23.14 in the Samford Meet in Birmingham, Ala.
MONROE COLLEGE/NJCAA 2013: Competed at Monroe College in New Rochelle, N.Y....Advanced to National Junior College Athletic Association Meet with school’s sprint relay teams and ran hurdles.
PREP: Set school records for the Boilermakers at Garfield High School, just west of New York City in New Jersey...Best times include a 58.78 in the 400m race and 1:03.36 in the 400m Hurdles.
PERSONAL: Tyra Jamison is the daughter of Sheree Payne...Tyra’s father is Todd Jamison...Tyra has four brothers: Michael, James, Jayven and Jared...Tyra is the oldest of the five children and the only girl...Majoring in psychology...Tyra has set her goal of achieving a spot on the U.S. Olympic teams and winnng the 400m hurdles.
