Georgia State University Athletics

Kelsey Russo joined Georgia State as a graduate assistant athletic trainer in the fall of 2019 before being promote to athletic trainer in July 2021. In her current role she will work primarily with women’s basketball, while overseeing medical care for cheer and dance, as well as the graduate assistant assigned to cross country/track and field.  

Russo previously worked as a seasonal athletic trainer with both the men’s soccer and baseball programs at the Virginia Military Institute. 

Russo earned her Bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Penn State in 2018, where she worked as a student athletic trainer, before earning her Masters from Georgia State in 2021.
