Georgia State University Athletics

David Porley enters his first season as a graduate assistant coach at Georgia State. He will assist head coach Derek Leader with all aspects of the program and work with the team's goalkeepers.

Porley comes to GSU after spending last year as assistant coach and goalkeeper coach for the womens' team at Georgia Southwestern State in Americus, Ga. He was also named the interim head coach this past spring. Porley also supervised GSW's wellness center.

Prior to his stint at GSW, Porley worked as the goalkeeper coach at the International Goalkeepers Academy in Sydney, Australia. Porley is certified Level 2 Goalkeeper License Football Federation of Australia as of 2011 and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditional Association. He is also a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association as of 2011.

Porley graduated from Georgia Southwestern State with a bachelor's degree in exercise science and wellness education. He also earned a minor in management.

Porley will be studying exercise science at Georgia State when he begins classes in the fall.
