Biography
2007-08: During the indoor track season, ran the one-mile at the Clemson Opener in a time of 5:43.93...Ran the 800m in 2:24.65 at the Virginia Tech Challenge...Posted her outdoor season-best in the 800m with a time of 2:21.87...Earned CAA All-Academic honors...Named to the Dean’s List in the spring.
2006-07: Megan competed in four meets for the Panthers and was one of three Panthers to compete in the Troy State Invitational where she finished with a time of 13:27 to claim 19th...Helped the Panthers claim second place at the Georgia State Invitational, finishing the 5k race in 20:56.61 and placing 12th. Megan redshirted her sophomore track season.
2005-06: Megan ran outdoor track in her freshman season at State...She ran her best time of the year in the 800m at the Yellow Jacket Invitational finishing in 2:20.11...Earned the Ron Curry Determination award by the Georgia State athletic department for her drive to succeed. Megan also performed well in school, earning a spot on the Dean’s List and the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll...She was presented a Commissioner’s Academic Award by the CAA.
Prep: Stewart qualified for the OFSAA Championships in both cross country and track all four years for the Governor Simcoe Redcoats...She was the bronze medalist in the 800 meters at the championship meet as a junior, and her team placed third in the 2002 OFSAA Cross Country Championship.
Personal: Stewart was born on July 5, 1987, to Vaughn and Sharon Stewart in St. Catharines, Ontario...Has one younger brother, Leland, and one older sister, Kate...Her mother was a 400 meter champion at Ontario University Championships...Major is early childhood education.
