Zully Douglass was named the head coach of the Georgia State women's cross country program in February 2023 after three seasons as an assistant coach on the Panthers' staff. She also serves the track and field assistant coach for distance.

Douglass originally joined the GSU program in July 2020 as the assistant coach for cross country and distance.

During her time on the staff, Georgia State cross country and distance runners have set school records and achieved numerous personal bests.

In 2021-22, Douglass worked with All-Sun Belt Conference cross country runners Marine Garnier and Emma Devis. Garnier earned all-conference honors in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track and won Sun Belt Conference titles in the 3000 meter steeplechase and the distance medley relay.

The cross country program has been recognized by the U.S. Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCAA) for academic excellence all three years.

Douglass came to Georgia State after three years (2017-20) at the Atlanta International School, where she coached the varsity track and field and cross country teams as well as the middle school volleyball program.

She previously spent five years (2012-17) as a coach, teacher and administrator at the high school level.

As a track and field student-athlete, Douglass was a conference champion for the Miami Hurricanes in the 400 meters, 800 meters and 4x400 meter relay. She earned her bachelor's degree in arts and sciences from Miami in 2011. While completing her degree, she served as a media and events assistant in the Miami athletic department. She added a master's degree in educational leadership from Texas-Rio Grande Valley in 2018.
