2005-06: As a junior, Brittany broke her previous best time in the cross-country 5K with a time of 19:20 at the Greater Louisville Classic. Holland also placed 20th at the CAA Cross-Country Championships by running a 23:31 in the 6K event. During the indoor track season, Brittany set another personal-best time in the mile with a time of 5:10.39 at the Virginia Tech Challenge. She continued her record-breaking ways in the outdoor season. Brittany ran a personal-best 4:45.44 in the 1500 and finishing fifth at the Seminole Invitational. She also scored a personal-best in the 800m run, running a 2:16.31 at the CAA Track Championships for a fifth place finish. Brittany also excelled in the classroom. She was named to both the Dean’s List and Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in the fall and spring at State. The CAA honored Brittany for her grades with a Commissioner’s Academic Award.
2004-05: Britanny recorded a new personal best in the cross country 5K by running a 19:46 at the Greater Louisville Classic in the fall. She also recorded the second top-10 finish of her career at the Troy Invitational, placing fourth on the team and seventh overall by covering the 2-mile course in 12:12. In track, Holland competed in the mid-distance events. She cut an impressive 17 seconds off of her career best in the mile during indoor season, running a 5:23.06 at the Clemson Indoor meet. Brittany also saved her best 1500 performance for when it counted most, setting a new PR of 4:45.24 at the Atlantic Sun Championship meet to place eighth. Her best 800 meter race came at the Georgia Invitational where she placed second in a time of 2:20.89.
2003-04: Her freshman season saw her compete in six cross country meets as well as indoor and outdoor track. She was named to the A-Sun All-Academic team after the first semester.
In cross country, Holland's first collegiate meet was the opener at Western Carolina where she finished 25th as the Lady Panthers finished first. She ran at the Seminole Meet in Tallahassee (56,20:41), at both the Georgia State Inivitational (14, 20:22) and Collegiate Championships (10, 20:06), and the Auburn Invitational (194, 21:29). She was 14th in 13:02 at the 3k Troy State Invitational. She ran 20:52 for 59th in her first A-Sun Championship Meet. In indoor track, the freshman ran the mile (5:40 at UNC). In outdoor season, Holland ran her best in the 1500 meters at UNCC (43, 5:04.31), and at the UGA Meet (8, 5:01.81). She ran her personal bests for 3000 meters at UNCC with a time of 11:11.22 and 19:19.88 for 5000 meters at the Yellow Jacket Invitational
Prep: Brittany Holland had an extremely successful high school career at Winder-Barrow, becoming an eight-time region champion for cross country and track, earning top 10 state finishes, and earning the school's most valuable athlete award. She was the recipient of the Emil Jones Memorial Award. Her best times are 2:22 for 800, 5:31 for 1600m, 12:08 for 5000m and 19:44 for 5k cross country.
Personal: Holland was born Oct. 25, 1984 in Athens, Ga., and is the daughter of Randall and Elaine Holland. She was also recruited by Berry College, Tennessee Tech, and Western Carolina.
