Cross Country 2010: Competed in three meets during the 2010 season...Began the year with a 26th place showing out of 53 runners at the Struts JSU Opener 4K...Finished the course in 16:25...Finished the GSU Invitational 5K in 23:33.29, good for another 26th place effort out of 63 runners...Finished 18th out of 77 runners at the Oglethorpe Invitational 5K with a season best time of 22:17.37...Named to the Dean's List for the fall semester.

Outdoor Track & Field 2010: Redshirted the 2010 outdoor season due to injury...Earned spring semester's AD Honor Roll honors and received All-Academic honors.

Indoor Track & Field 2010: Redshirted the 2010 indoor season due to injury.

Cross Country 2009: Competed in four meets during the fall season...Ran a season-best time at the Greater Louisville Classic with a time of 21:04.60...Ran a 21:33.68 on the 5K course at the season-opening Sewanee Invitational...Ran a 22:41.68 at the Commodore Classic and a 25:12.60 at the JMU Invitational...Earned a spot on the fall semester's AD's Honor Roll. 

Outdoor Track & Field 2009: Ran the 5,000 during the outdoor track season...Season-best time was 20:34.50 at the CAA Championships...Ran a 21:04.28 at the Emory Invitational.

Cross Country 2008: Competed in three meets during the cross country season and ran a season-best 21:43.16 in the 5K Crimson Classic to finish 57th overall...Ran a 13:49 at the UTC Front Runner two-mile race to finish 35th.

Prep: Was a scholar athlete and received academic letters at Sequoyah...Competed in cross country and track and was the cross country team captain in 2007...Received the most improved award, the school's "Heart and Sole" award and earned a 10th-place finish at the cross country championships in 2006...Was the team captain for the track team in 2006 and placed second in the 3,200-meter run at the county championship in 2007 and second in the 1,600-meter run in 2006...Ran a personal best of 21:24 in the 5K at the regional championship during senior year.

Personal: Born December 6, 1990 in Woodbridge, Va. to Rich and Sandee Carney...Has an older brother, Aaron, and an older sister, Ashlyn...Father ran 5K and 10K races in the Army...Enjoys biking swimming, reading, writing and scrapbooking...Chose Georgia State because of the running program and the campus atmosphere...Majoring in journalism.
