Biography
2012: Named an AVCA All-American ... Reached the semifinals with partner Katie Madewell at the AVCA National Championships ... Had a 29-5 record in the 2013 season, 28 of those wins coming with Madewell (one with Milani Pickering) ... Went 15-2 in dual matches and 14-3 in tournament matches ... Never lost more than one match in a row and largest win streak was nine straight matches ... Won the Georgia State and Florida State pairs tournaments.
Miami (Fla.): Named both the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year and the league's Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2011 ... One of 10 national finalists for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award ... Twice named an AVA All-American and posted over four points per set in leading the Hurricanes to the second round of the NCAA tournament and a 26-5 rcord in 2011 ... Previously competed as an amateur in AVP Beach qualifying events in high school and in international competition in Poland. She has one year of eligibility on the sand for Georgia State.
Prep: Led Mira Costa High School to a perfect 37-0 record and to the school's fourth-straight championship in 2007 ... As team captain at Mira Costa, Carico was named MVP of the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions ... First Team Daily Breeze and CIF SS ... Was also named to the Durango Classic All-Tournament Team ... Ranked as the 66th top senior nationally by Prepvolleyball.com ... Helped lead Mira Costa to a record of 37-1 her junior season ... Won a state championship three straight years at Mira Coasta ... Also represented the United States at the Under-19 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Poland ... Personal: Daughter of Chris and Keli Carico ... Has a brother, Weston ... Also has an older sister, Taylor, who played at the University of Southern California (2006-08), and finished her senior season playing at the University of Minnesota (2009) ... Studied exercise science.
