Scott Curry enters his third season with the Georgia State men's tennis team and his first as the program's full-time Assistant Coach under head coach Chase Hodges. Curry was a Graduate Assistant with the program last season and spent the season before last as a Volunteer Assistant.

Hodges named Curry an assistant coach on Jan. 10, 2012. He will continue to assist with every aspect of the Georgia State men's tennis program.

Curry brings Colonial Athletic Association playing experience to the Panthers. He is the all-time leader in singles and doubles victories at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He was also a two-time, all-conference selection and earned the Golden Seahawks Academic Award. Curry also earned the men's tennis team's Most Spirited, Leadership and Coaches awards while playing all four years under Head Coach Allen Farfour. Scott also has a victory over the ATP world #18 and former NCAA Champion John Isner.

Following completion of a Communication Studies Degree in 2005, Scott earned a USPTA P-1 certification, the teaching profession's highest honor. He then spent the next five years as a teaching professional from the North Carolina coast to the coast of southern California.

"I'm ecstatic to have Scott on my staff here at Georgia State. He brings high energy to the program and I'm 100 percent sure that our student-athletes greatly benefit from his coaching," Hodges said.

"I had the opportunity to recruit Scott to UNC Wilmington years ago. He was a tremendous player for the Seahawks and he has a strong desire to be successful. My hope is that his desire will be seen by our players which can help translate into positive results."

Scott currently resides in Atlanta, Ga. and graduated last fall from Georgia State with a master's degree in Sports Administration.
