Kyle Slaton

Biography

Kyle Slaton came to Georgia State in July 2010 to serve as the Director of Sports Turf and Grounds. His responsibilities include the maintenance of 10 acres of grass athletic fields as well as all the common areas around the fields.

Slaton has more than a decade of experience in athletic grounds maintenance under his belt. He previously worked as a turfgrass intern with the Milwaukee Brewers (2004-05), the Philadelphia Phillies (2006), and the Philadelphia Eagles (2006-07). After graduating from Penn State with a bachelor's degree in turfgrass science in 2006, Slaton was hired as the head groundskeeper for the Frederick Keys minor league baseball club. He held that position until 2010, when he joined Georgia State.

Slaton has been a member of the Sports Turf Managers Association since 2004 and became a Certified Sports Field Manager in February 2013.
