Kosha Irby joined the Georgia State athletics staff as Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs in August 2009.
Irby joined the Georgia State staff from Saint Louis University, where he served as Associate AD for External Operations and previously worked under GSU Director of Athletics Cheryl L. Levick, the Billikens' Director of Athletics from 2004-07.
Irby worked a total of five years at Saint Louis, including two years (2003-05) as Director of Sales and Marketing. He spent one year (2005-06) as Assistant AD for Sports Marketing at the University of South Florida before returning to Saint Louis in September 2006.
In his most recent post at Saint Louis, Irby oversaw the department's external initiatives, including marketing, advertising, ticket sales, corporate sponsorship, electronic media broadcasts, game entertainment, customer service and community relations. Under his leadership, the external operations staff increased sponsorship revenue by 350 percent, ticket revenue by 95 percent, the men's basketball season ticket base by 24 percent and licensing revenue by 20 percent.
Irby served as tournament director for the 2006 NCAA Men's Soccer College Cup, hosted by Saint Louis, and as part of the local organizing committees for the 2008 NCAA Women's Final Four in Tampa and the 2004 NCAA Men's Final Four in St. Louis.
Irby, who has published articles on marketing and group ticket sales in the trade publication Athletics Administration, attended the University of Memphis, where he earned his bachelor's degree in exercise and sport science in 2000 and then his MBA in marketing in 2001.
