Keisuke Kagawa

Biography

Keisuke Kagawa has been a member of the Georgia State athletics staff since 2015 and is currently serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. He is working primarily with the Panthers’ football team during his first year in Atlanta.

Kagawa, a native of Shizuoka, JAPAN, is currently working toward a Master of Science in sports medicine from Georgia State and he plans to graduate in 2017. He graduated from West Virginia University in 2014 with a B.S. in athletic training.

While at WVU, Kagawa covered a wide variety of sports including rotations at WVU (women’s track and field, baseball, women’s soccer, and mountaineer football program), at Fairmont State University (men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, and spring football) and also completed clinical rotations at a physical therapy clinic. While earning his undergraduate degree from WVU, he served as an intern athletic trainer with the Syracuse Chiefs (Washington Nationals AAA) in June 2012 and Washington Nationals Minor League Affiliates’ Spring Training in March 2012. Kagawa also completed an internship with Western Kentucky University Hill toppers’ football program in 2014-2015 season.

Kagawa is a licensed athletic trainer by the state of Georgia Department of Health and is a certified athletic trainer by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification. He is also certified in first aid and CPR/AED by the American Red Cross. Kagawa is an active member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and Japan Athletic Trainers’ Organization.
