Ravin Gilbert, who broke one of her own women's track and field school records on Sunday, is the Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week, powered by the U.S. Marines.
The senior sprinter broke her own school record in winning the 200m dash at the South Alabama Jaguar Invitational Sunday. Her clocking of 24.27 topped the 35-runner field and lowered her existing record from 24.31 seconds.
The 24.27 is the second-fastest time in the Sun Belt this winter. The conversion time for the track will go down as 23.90.
The women's track and field team will return to action this Friday and Saturday at the Marshall Invitational in Huntington, W. Va.
