Georgia State men's soccer student-athlete Conor Acheson is this week’s GSU Student-Athlete of the Week presented by Georgia Power.
The senior played a key role in Georgia State’s Sun Belt Conference 3-0 win over Appalachian State Saturday night at Georgia Gwinnett College.
Acheson’s role as a defender saw him play all 90 minutes in holding the Mountaineers scoreless on the evening for the Panthers’ second shutout of the season.
The senior from Tipperary, Ireland, also stepped up to score the second goal of the game when he got in front of the net on a corner kick from Liam Fitzsimmons to head the ball into the net.
His play helped build GSU’s win streak to three consecutive matches and an overall mark of 5-3 on the season, while being 1-0 to start the Sun Belt season.
