Spring 2011: Earned a 6-9 record during his first season as a Panther...Played No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 singles...Won three straight-matches on Feb. 20-23...Posted a 5-6 mark at No. 1 singles...Townes partnered with Breon Badger, Thomas Cook, Vincent Verpeaux and Trent Spinks to record a 2-5 mark in doubles...Earned doubles victories against North Georgia and Georgia Southwestern.

Fall 2010: Posted a 4-4 mark during his fall campaign...Defeated Eric Turner (Elon), 6-2, 7-6, (7-2) at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships...Defeated Miguel Monteriro 6-2, 6-0 (Auburn), at GT Invitational...Earned a victory over Will Oliver (UGA), 6-4, 6-2 at the Bulldog Scramble...Played doubles with Trenton Spinks and Vincent Verpeaux...Townes and Verpeaux defeated Will Oliver/Campbell Johnson (UGA), 8-6 at the Bulldog Scramble.

Junior career:  A five-star recruit according to Tennis Recruiting.net and was listed as the No. 2 ranked player in Georgia and No. 16 in the Southeast. He has compiled a record of 25-13 during his junior career, including a perfect 5-0 record against three star recruits. Townes also has a 9-9 record on the futures tour and has recorded six victories against other five-star recruits.

Personal: Gabriel Allen Townes was born on April 2, 1992 in Washington, D.C...Son of Peter Townes and Dorothy Jendine...Has one brother Matthew (24) and one sister Cecelia (26)...Enjoys writing, live music, and volunteering...Has published a book entitled Tritorian...Majoring in Journalism.
