Outdoor 2016: Placed eighth at the Sun Belt Outdoor Track and Field Championships clearing 1.66m (5-5.25)... Cleared 1.65m (5-5) to place fourth at the Western Carolina University T&F Invitational… Jumped 1.67 (5-5.75) at the Georgia Tech Invitational to land at sixth place… Jumped 1.6m (5-3) at the Tiger Track Classic and 1.61m (5-3.25) at the Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Invitational… Cleared 1.68m (5-6) to place second at the Lady Gamecock Quad Meet (JSU). 

Indoor 2016: Jumped 1.60m (5-3) at the Sunbelt Indoor Track and Field Championships after clearing the same 1.60m (5-3) at the Chipotle Marshall Invitational… Cleared 1.61m (5-3.25) to place third at the ASU Invitational… Jumped 1.64m (5-4 1/2) at the UAB Blazer Invitational… Cleared 1.61m (5-3.25) to finish fourth at the David E. Walker Kickoff Classic… Placed 13th in BSC Panther Indoor Icebreaker with a high jump of 1.60m (5-3).

Outdoor 2015: Won the USF Bulls Invite with a high jump of 1.70m (5-7)...Scored points for GSU by placing fourth at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships with a jump of 1.64m (5-4 1/2)...Cleared 1.66m (5-5 1/4) to place sixth at the Yellow Jacket Invitational at Georgia Tech...Jumped 1.62m (5-3 3/4) at UGA.

Indoor 2015: Placed sixth to score for GSU at the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships with a jump of 1.66m (5-5 1/4)...Cleared 1.65m (5-5) at the UAB Vulcan Invite for finish second after clearing that same 1.65m (5-5) at the Birmingham Southern meet...Jumped 1.64m (5-4 1/2) at the UAB Blazer Invitational and 1.63m (5-4 1/4) at ETSU Buccaneer Invitational.

Prep: Finished an outstanding prep career as a high jumper at Eastside High School in metro Atlanta in the suburb of Covington, Ga...Was a 2012 All-American at the AAU national championships...Was a four-time Region 8AAAA high jump champ under coach Fankey Iverson...Chavis finished second in the state meet and second in the Class 4A sectionals as a senior...Top jump was 5-6 at the sectionals as well as in winning the New Rock Championship at Salem High School...Cleared 5-6 as a junior in finishing second in the sectionals and finished 19th in the outdoor national event in Greensboro, N.C...As a sophomore, cleared 5-6 several times and was also a triple jumper for Eastside.

Personal: Born Nylah Jeslyn Chavis on Nov. 6, 1995 in Atlanta...Parents are Diaz and Katherine Chavis of Decatur, Ga...Oldest brother Nicos played football at Delaware and brother Nijyi swam at Florida A&M, following their father who ran track at South Carolina State...The brothers opened a training gym called fitOne studio and Nylah may pursue that same business...Major is exercise science.
