MOBILE, ALA. -- Georgia State picked up a second Sun Belt win with a 2-1 match against South Alabama on the road.
Georgia State improved to 7-3-1 overall and 2-1-0 in Sun Belt play with the win.
How it Happened
Georgia State started the scoring early, when it took a 1-0 lead from a Sunniyah Tucker kick in the fifth minute. It was Tucker's sixth goal of the season.
The Jaguars leveled the match on a goal from Victoria Rocci in the 24th minute, assisted by Aliya Gomes.
The Panthers would finally break through again in the 76th minute, off a header from Naiya McFarlane. McFarlane's goal came off a corner kick from Aaliyah Faddoul.
The Panthers would hold South Alabama to its lone goal thanks to three saves from goalkeeper Alondra Iriarte.
The Panthers look to remain undefeated at home against Arkansas State on Friday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. ET.
