Georgia State Women's Soccer Opens 2026 Season at UAB

ATLANTA – Georgia State women's soccer kicks off the 2026 season on Wednesday, Aug. 12, traveling to Birmingham, Ala., to take on UAB at 8:00 p.m. ET.

This matchup marks the sixth meeting between the Panthers and the Blazers. The Panthers are 1-3-1, winning the most recent matchup 2-0 on Oct. 28, 2020.

The Panthers look to start strong after a 9-8-2 campaign in 2025, with head coach Ed Joyce returning a blend of experienced leaders and fresh talent to the pitch.

Team captain Aaliyah Faddoul enters her senior season following a decorated offseason in which she earned 2026 Preseason All-Sun Belt honors. A 2025 First Team All-Sun Belt selection, Faddoul started all 19 matches last season and led the Panthers with 17 points.

Vice captain Carys Fraser also earned 2026 Preseason All-Sun Belt honors following a successful freshman year. Fraser played in all 19 games, starting 12 of them, and recording an assist in the Panthers' upset at Florida.

Fellow vice captain Abby Kilman returns for her junior season. Kilman started all 19 games for the Panthers in 2025 and established herself as a key presence in the midfield.

The 2026 roster features a mix of talent with 13 newcomers joining the squad, with seven freshmen, five transfers and one graduate student.

Next up, the Panthers will host Truett McConnell for Senior Night on Aug. 16 at 7:00 p.m.
