ATLANTA – Georgia State softball was unable to overcome an early deficit, falling 3-1 to Georgia Tech on Wednesday evening at Mewborn Field.
Briana Bower got the start in the circle for the Panthers, working all seven innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Georgia Tech struck early, plating all three of its runs in the second inning on a two-RBI double to center, followed by an RBI single to take a 3-0 lead.
The Panthers answered in the fourth, as McKenzie Walker came around to score on an RBI single from Maya Bagby to cut the deficit to 3-1.
From there, it turned into a pitcher's duel, with Georgia Tech's staff shutting the door with a 3-1 victory.
