Box Score CHATTANOOGA — Georgia State Women's Tennis earned their first point of the season on Friday night, winning two of three doubles matches on the road against Chattanooga. The Panthers would go on to lose to the Mocs by a final score of 6-1.
Defending their home court early, Chattanooga swept the third court in doubles, dropping the Panthers 6-0. Tying things up at one match per side,
Zeynep Erbakan and
Maria Paredes took down their counterparts on the first court. On court number two,
Sveva Bernardi and
Sara Radojevic secured the point for Georgia State, winning by a score of 6-3 to take an early 1-0 lead overall.
In singles play,
Zeynep Erbakan forced tiebreakers in each of her two sets, including a thrilling 9-7 tiebreaker loss in the second set, falling to her counterpart from Chattanooga by the slimmest of margins. Bernardi was the only Panthers to win a set, forcing a tiebreaking third set before eventually dropping the point. The rest of the Georgia State lineup fell in straight sets.
