ATLANTA — Georgia State Athletics posted a historic academic performance during the Spring 2025 semester, achieving a record-breaking 3.38 cumulative GPA across all programs. This milestone marks the first time every GSU athletics team earned a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher.
"We're not just developing athletes; we're fostering well-rounded individuals," Senior Associate Athletic Director of Academics and Student-Athlete Development
Brad Horton said. "Academic success and athletic achievement are intrinsically connected, and we are dedicated to providing the resources and support needed for our student-athletes to excel both in the classroom and on the field. I would also like to commend the leadership and staff in our athletics program, along with our exceptional faculty, for providing the essential support and encouragement that have enabled our student-athletes to thrive academically."
Leading the way academically, the men's tennis team claimed the Male Team GPA Award for the second consecutive term with an outstanding 3.82 GPA. On the women's side, the cross-country team earned top honors with a 3.80 GPA.
Individually,
Blake Farbman (MGO),
Michaela Jefferson (BVB),
Kayla Broom (CVB) and
Emmanuel Koveos (MBB) led the way for the Panthers, all earning 4.30 GPAs for the Spring 2025 semester.
The football program also demonstrated notable academic progress, recording a 3.10 team GPA—the highest in program history. This marks a significant improvement compared to previous academic terms spanning Fall 2023 through Fall 2024.

This isn't just about academics — it's about believing in our players and pushing for greatness every day."
Complementing the team achievements, a total of 269 student-athletes received academic honors, including 62 who earned President's List distinction for their exemplary academic performance.
Throughout the 2024–25 academic year, the Men's and Women's Tennis programs led all Georgia State athletic teams in academic performance. Women's Tennis posted the highest cumulative GPA across the department with an impressive 3.84, closely followed by Men's Tennis with a 3.82 cumulative GPA.
