COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --The Georgia State Panthers struggled on Tuesday, falling to the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles 7-1 despite the efforts of senior Chloe Middlebrooks, who went 2-for-3 with a double.
Senior Sydney Boulware (3-9) started and took the loss in the circle for Georgia State (10-30).
Offensively, the Panthers were paced by Middlebrooks, who went 2-for-3 on the day with a double. Senior Kiki Edwards compiled a standout day at the plate as well, going 1-for-3 with a double.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the top of the first inning. Middlebrooks came across to score the lone run of the inning for Georgia State and get them on the board. The Panthers were unable to hold the lead, as Tennessee Tech scored seven times over the remaining six innings to grab the 7-1 win.
